In today’s competitive society, the kind of job we land is often an indicator of the kind of life we lead. And usually, it’s the right kind of education that attracts the right job.
Presently, it’s no longer enough to get a good education, it’s important to get a solid one. So we all want our children to attend the best school, but high fees are the norm of the day. Fortunately, online courses provide a worthy alternative for those who want to get a higher education on the cheap.
Since internet access has become ubiquitous, it’s quite simple to create an online learning environment for a student. Plus, think about it. You subtract the hassle of going to an external location, wasting time on commutes, and all the additional spending.
College education online represent the next logical evolution of standard education within the modern society. And even if in the past online college degree programs raised some questions, most of them have been addressed in the present.
For example, a while ago enrolling with online courses was viewed with skepticism because low-quality of education was suspected. Well since then accreditation has entered the equation, so you don’t need to worry about your online college degree not being on par with on-campus programs. Because they are just as exigent and in-depth.
Another concern some have had related to college education online is the fact that students of digital programs wouldn’t be eligible for funding. That might have been the case some time ago, but it’s certainly not the case now.
Today, those enrolled with an online college degree can and should apply for scholarships in order to get some additional money to fund their higher education.
If you think you might benefit from that, here’s an example of scholarship which is open for students of online courses. It’s offered by Global Teletherapy and is opened to all types of students regardless of major.
Although, you need to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be considered for this grant. If that’s your case, note that you will need to send in the following details to register your candidature including:
- Full name and address
- Name of the college education online or offline institution you are attending
- Unofficial transcripts
- Essay
To complete your application, you’ll need to write an essay (2,000-words or less) in which you respond to the following questions:
- Why do you feel taking responsibility to help your community is important?
- What you think the three most critical needs of your community are
- How you would implement your ideas to improve it.
All entries will be judged based on multiple criteria including originality, spelling and grammar, and how convincing your overall piece of writing is.
You have until October 3, 2018 to apply, but given that this year the deadline has passed, you can bookmark this page and try coming back in a few months to learn more details about the 2019 program.
The award is worth $1,000.
